Master of Balliol College -- message for alumni
In his first video message to Old Members of the College, the new Master,
Sir Drummond Bone, presents Balliol in its many aspects. These include
innovative projects like the Internet Institute and the Historic Collections
Centre; the Masters Seminars; the Norrington Table; the new fees structure
and the College's support funds for students. A surprising fact is that the
scholarships and bursaries make Oxford one of the best universities
financially for students from low-income families.
The message ends with comments on the future size and shape of the College;
and, of course, plans for the ambitious 750th anniversary in 2013.
