David Vines, Professor of Economics and Fellow of Balliol College

David Vines is Professor of Economics at Oxford University and is Director of the Centre for International Macroeconomics. He also holds a professorship at the Australian National University. He is a member of the Academic panel of the British Treasury (the finance ministry).

At Cambridge, he worked with Nobel Prize-winning economist, James Meade, who was deeply influenced by John Maynard Keynes. This interview shows the influence of both of these great men as he discusses essential remedies for global recession and Oxford's role in those remedies.
